'Empowered Horses' $29.95
Learning Their Way through Independence, Self-Confidence, and Creative Play. by Imke Spilker
This astounding new book challenges the “rules” of horsemanship in way you have never seen before! You’ll discover how to preserve your horse’s independence in a “human’s world” by becoming more passive, receptive, and accepting, giving your horse the physical and emotional “space” to take an unbelievably active role in your interactions—both work and play. With your support, your horse will develop games and exercises that naturally balance and collect his body, as if by magic. In addition, he will enthusiastically “work with” and “carry” you— “inviting” you along for the ride of your life. The key to this dramatic reconsideration of the human-horse relationship is how inner balance finds outer expression in the body. Whether human or horse, feelings, posture, and movement are inextricably linked. With the ability to “tap into” this language—as explained in the pages of this book—you can leave behind the demands, commands, and cues you once relied on, and instead discover an unbelievable realm of sophisticated and mutually beneficial symbiosis.

$59.95
How Incorrect “Modern” Riding Negatively Affects Horses’ Health by Dr. Gerd Heuschmann

Now, you can take a step further into the examination of the horse’s “riding experience” and see just how specific kinds of movement and posture impact the horse’s skeleton and musculature. Through the magic of 3-D animation—as never-before-seen in an equestrian video of this kind—viewers are shown how the horse’s limbs, muscles, and ligaments interact at various gaits. In addition, live-action examples of riding, both good and bad, demonstrate the effect human beings have on their equine “partners.” Viewers are sure to be astounded by the direct role their riding has on their horse’s physical and mental health and well-being.

    INTRODUCING:
'Gallop to Freedom: Training Horses with the Founding Stars of Cavalia'
$29.95
Training Horses with the Founding Stars of Cavalia by Magali Delgado & Frederic Pignon, with David Walser
Almost every horse lover in North America and Europe has heard about or has been mesmerized by Cavalia. Now in this remarkable book, Frédéric—a specialist in liberty and ground work—and Magali—a talented dressage rider at the Grand Prix level—combine efforts and share the secrets of the breathtaking relationships they have cultivated over the course of their lives with horses. They tell the story of Templado—the gorgeous but rebellious stallion who demanded they question all they had learned as horsemen and look at, in a whole new light, what it means to train horses. It was this tempestuous character that taught them that the process of building a relationship with a horse can be on more equal footing than most would dream possible. It is with this life-altering lesson in mind that Frédéric and Magali now explain their Six Golden Principles.

'Workbooks from the Spanish School' $110.00
1948—1951 by Charles Harris
Charles Harris was the first and only pupil to complete the 1948—1951 course at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. Every day he wrote down what he had learned, illustrating each point and filling two thick notebooks. These numbered notes are faithfully reproduced just as he wrote them, forming a totally unique record of classic horsemanship. The autobiographical account of his life, at times painfully frank and often extremely moving, has been taken from transcripts of recorded interviews conducted by one of his nephews, Robert Sherman. The account provides compelling insight into one of the great characters of the horse world and helps to make this book a worthy memorial to a brilliant, yet always controversial man.

    TRAINING  OF HORSE & RIDER:
'Classical Schooling with the Horse in Mind'
$45.00
Gentle Gymnastic Training Techniques by Anja Beran with commentary by Dr. Gerd Heuschmann
With the training of the horse in the “classical” artistic form first taught by Xenophon over 2,500 years ago at its heart, this honest examination of “horsemanship”—past, present, and future—stands alone today in its power of consciousness–raising. Anja Beran’s gentle, but insistent, demand that every rider and trainer, beginner or expert, turn a critical eye toward his or her own methods urges readers to never forego their principle responsibilities in terms of their horse’s development and welfare. Meticulous, conscientious attention to the physical evolution of the horse during training and patient, correct progression through levels of learning should always trump ribbons, prize money, and fame. Within these pages Beran provides readers a twenty–first–century classical riding “how-to” guide.
