  • Betsy Schoettlin & her lovely partner Saffron - Betsy is sporting a DaBrim! Here they are at the ACTHA CTC in Norco in mid March.
"Just a quick note on the "Da Brim" helmet Brims: LOVE MINE! Wow, what a great product. I have mine on over my lycra helmet cover and I was worried that it wouldn't have enough grip. Wrong! Even with these awful, ferocious winds, it has stayed put! I also really like how it looks.

Vain, I know, but I think it looks way more stylish than the visors. And the sun protection is fabulous. Having the neck protection is great but what I really love is that the side protection blocks way more sun and I squint far less. I've got plenty of wrinkles. I don't need to be actively creating more! I haven't been on a trail ride yet without someone stopping me and wanting to know where to get one.
It also feels much lighter than my visor." Betsy

  1. Da Brim is da best 5 Star Review

I used this visor with my tipperary helmet last weekend. It was easy to attach, very comfortable and stayed on at any gait.

  2. Like having a covered arena on your head. 5 Star Review

This is a really nice product. super secure. I ride multiple horse a day out in full sun doing Dressage in the Central Valley and it shades very well and no worry about it blowing off my helmet. I would recommend the product.

  3. Much better than the one that just velcros aroun the brim 5 Star Review

I love this brim. It looks snug, you can tell it won't fly off, and it does stay on with zero worries. The shade is perfect. I bought the silver color which is subtler than the black, and doesn't look as much like a witch's hat. So many people at my ranch have one, we look like a coven! :)

  4. I love my DaBrim! 5 Star Review

I was lucky enough to be able to test out the original DaBrim with a friend of mine, and I loved it immediately. The new version is even better! It is super sleek, and it fits my helmet really well. It stays put at every speed (save for the occasional strong gust of wind where I experience a slight wiggle) and it is fantastic for trail rides on sunny days. The best part (and what my mom loved the most) is that it keeps the back of my neck from getting burned. I highly recommend this product to anyone who enjoys riding outside.

  5. Best brim on the market! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Jun 2012

I am an equipment JUNKIE so I generally try pretty much every new piece of equestrian equipment I can get my hands on. I'm always looking for the latest and greatest. When I got my original Da Brim, I fell in love with it immediately. It was easily the most stylish sun protection I have ever tried, too. It makes your helmet look more like a hat - hurray! Not only did it look stylish and offer unparalleled sun protection but it STAYED ON! I rode with it on trails, in arenas, went horse camping, galloped flat out for 1/4 mile in high winds. NOTHING made that thing budge even a tiny bit.

So when the NEW Da Brim came out, I was really skeptical. I was worried that, in trying to improve on what was already the best thing going, they would have messed it up. So I got one and took it horse camping. Up into the hills with the sun blazing down and the wind whistling so loud you could barely hear yourself. And, son of a gun, they had actually improved it. It's still light as a feather and sticks like glue with the added benefit that my neck is now fully protected.

And it looks just as stylish, if not more so. Pretty much every time I go out, somebody asks me where to get one.

If you are looking for sun protection when you ride, you can't do better than the Da Brim. Buy one - you won't be sorry!

  6. I just ordered another 5 Star Review

I bought one for my husband and I to try out. Darn if I had only gone ahead and purchased two at the beginning. This product ROCKS!

  7. Love my new DaBrim visor! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 27th May 2012

This product is easy to use, works very well in keeping the sun off my neck as well as out of my face, and certainly turns heads up here on the coast of Maine.

  8. definitely good to ride with 5 Star Review

Posted by on 25th May 2012

Great sun protection! The Da Brim seems to have an aerodynamic design. I get no upward pull on the chin strap even riding in the canter. There is some slight movement if a gust of wind hits it on the side. It took some wrestling to get it into place on my helmet, but once on stays put. The cinch strap pulls so tight as to deform the helmet, so I release it slightly when not using the helmet.

  9. So light you'll forget it's on your helmet! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Apr 2012

The Da Brim fits my Tipperary Sportage helmet that has a really narrow brim perfectly! It's very stable on the helmet and so light and positionable that I forgot it was on my helmet! It doesn't interfere with my vision nor does it make my helmet feel heavier or uncomfortable. I'll definitely be wearing it all during the hot, sunny days here in SE Texas. It will be really nice to have the back of my neck covered. I'll feel like I'm riding underneath my own personal umbrella!
