Celliant's blend of proprietary ingredients and one key mineral - titanium dioxide (which is a photocatalyst, or light absorbing mineral) reflect light (both visible and infrared) back into the body in modified wavelengths of light which are more easily absorbed by the body. The energy from this light is then able to reach more deeply into the tissue due to the increased refraction and light scattering properties of the minerals comprising Celliant, with the end result being improved blood flow in the target area. Therefore, Celliant works by increasing the amount of blood traveling into the affected area, not by causing the blood to absorb more oxygen.
